By the editors · 2 min readThe opening is immediate and sharp—lemon and bergamot cut through with a green, almost peppery basil that feels more kitchen garden than classic cologne. There's a brightness here that doesn't fade quickly, as the basil carries straight through into the heart alongside clary sage, which brings a soft, slightly sweaty herbaceousness. The effect is clean but not scrubbed, aromatic without turning medicinal.

As it settles, musk rounds everything into something skin-close and surprisingly wearable. This is basil as the main character, supported rather than buried by citrus, with just enough warmth underneath to keep it from turning too sharp or fleeting. Polo Ultra Blue works for someone who wants freshness without the usual marine clichés—straightforward, unpretentious, better suited to daylight than evening.
