By the editors · 2 min readLa Yuqawam Ambergris Showers opens with something sharp and vegetal — galbanum's bitter green note cutting through violet leaf and a brief citrus flash of tangerine before they all subside into the herbal core. Clary sage dominates the heart, earthy and slightly camphoraceous, joined by yerba mate which gives it a faintly smoky, dry character that reads as masculine without being aggressive.
The base is where the Middle Eastern construction becomes apparent: leather and styrax layered over vetiver and iris, with ambergris giving the whole composition a warm, skin-close quality that reads as animalic in the best sense — warm rather than rank. It's an interesting fragrance for the category: green and leathery without being overtly barbershop, and Eastern in structure without leaning heavily on oud.
