With only a saffron heart leading into a base of guaiac wood, vanilla, olibanum and musk, the composition is essentially a single dark-amber-leather accord drawn out across hours. Guaiac contributes a smoky-resinous wood, olibanum sharpens the smoke, vanilla rounds the corners, and the saffron carries a polished, animalic-leather sheen throughout.
The overall feel is dense and slightly austere, more meditative than seductive. Projection is strong from the opening and stays generous for several hours, settling into a long, smoky, leathery vanilla-amber trail that holds well into the next day.
