By the editors · 2 min readA direct vetiver portrait, opened with lemon and bergamot and brushed past a single touch of May rose. The flower is a transition only — within ten minutes the scent is squarely about the root.
Vetiver here is rendered earthy and slightly green, with oakmoss reinforcing the mossy edge and galbanum sharpening the opening with a bitter herbal cut. Pink pepper and nutmeg add a small spicy lift; labdanum supplies a thin amber underneath that softens the close without sweetening it. The overall shape is dry, classical, and more masculine-leaning than gendered. It wears well across seasons but performs best in mild weather where the green topnotes hold legibility.
