Miss Dupont
Peach and grapefruit run together at the top, the grapefruit cutting any cloying edge the peach would otherwise have, and a thread of galbanum keeps the opening green and slightly bitter.

By the editors · 2 min readPeach and grapefruit run together at the top, the grapefruit cutting any cloying edge the peach would otherwise have, and a thread of galbanum keeps the opening green and slightly bitter. It's a more interesting top accord than the brief suggests.
The heart pivots toward woods sooner than expected — sandalwood and vetiver are dominant, with rose acting as accent rather than centerpiece — which gives the perfume a structure closer to a chypre-floral than a fruity-floral. The base is the standard amber-vanilla-musk drydown of its era, but the woody heart prevents it from going generic. Wears well across spring and fall in office and casual contexts; the vetiver keeps it serious enough for evening too.
