By the editors · 2 min readAcqua Essenziale Blu opens with a bright citrus triad — lemon, grapefruit, and bergamot — with cardamom adding warmth that prevents the opening from reading purely fresh. The 'blu' branding suggests marine freshness, but this fragrance's identity is actually aromatic-woody rather than aquatic.

Lavender and Atlas cedar form the clean, structured heart; the lavender stays aromatic while the cedar begins the transition toward the base. Tonka bean, ambroxan, and benzoin together provide a warm, slightly ambery drydown with good projection, ambroxan's characteristic salty-woody glow evident in the later stages. Patchouli adds earthy depth. A versatile, well-made masculine dressed in a colour it doesn't quite embody.
