By the editors · 2 min readA composition built around tobacco, leather, and rum — though listed as base notes, they read together from the start. Rum opens boozy and slightly sweet, the tobacco dry and hay-like beneath it, the leather adding a smoky suede texture that pulls the booze toward something more meditative than cocktail-like.
Vanilla arrives in the dry-down to soften the smoky leather, never reading as dessert but as a slightly creamy lubricant for the tobacco-rum core. Patchouli grounds everything with damp earth. The drydown holds the rum-tobacco-leather accord steady for hours, with vanilla and patchouli softening the edges as it warms. Dense and contemplative — a fireside scent rather than an evening-out one. Best worn in still cool air.
