By the editors · 2 min readSaffron and thyme open in an unusual pairing — the saffron warm, leathery and slightly metallic, the thyme green-herbal and dry. The opening reads more savoury than sweet, leaning aromatic from the first minutes.
Ylang-ylang in the heart sits creamier and more banana-sweet against the saffron's smoke, softening the spice without erasing it. The contrast between the dry top and the lush middle is the most interesting movement here, and it lingers through the development.
Tonka in the base lands with almond-vanilla warmth, smoothing everything into a sweet-balsamic close. Overall character is a saffron-ylang composition with a tonka drydown — cool-weather, evening-leaning, moderate in projection and somewhere between gourmand and oriental in framing.
