By the editors · 2 min readGardenia and ylang-ylang open plush and creamy, their buttery petals dripping with black-currant syrup sharpened by bergamot. The heart keeps the white bouquet but lets jasmine’s indole edge push forward, turning the creamy volume slightly carnal while incense smoke begins to rise underneath. As the base settles, dark chocolate folds into sandalwood and vanilla, creating a bitter-cocoa wood fondant that is dusted with patchouli earth and kept from gourmand excess by a dry vetiver ribbon. Sillage projects an arm-length floral-chocolate haze for hours, then collapses into a musky amber skin-glow that still carries a ghost of gardenia. Cool evenings, statement coat required.
