By the editors · 2 min readSaffron arrives first with its dry, leathery warmth, immediately framing the composition in something more savoury than fruity. The cherry promised by the name shows up muted, more like a stained-skin impression than ripe fruit.
Leather and apricot at the heart deepen the saffron's tannic quality, the apricot rounding the leather into something almost lacquered. Smoke and guaiac wood take over the base with a charred, resinous quality that feels closer to burning incense than a campfire.
The overall effect is dark, dry, and a touch syrupy at the edges, evoking polished wood and stained suede in a dim room. It wears best in colder months and reads as evening from the first spray.
