By the editors · 2 min readGinger and bergamot lift the opening with a bright, slightly metallic snap, sharpened by ambergris and amber resins beneath. The top is more spice than citrus by the time it's settled.
Iris carries the heart almost alone — powdery, root-vegetable, with the cool cosmetic quality that orris brings rather than a floral one. It thins out the warm openings and gives the perfume a quieter middle than the start would suggest.
The base turns to roasted coffee against dry cedar, ending darker and woodier than the heart hinted. Office-friendly in cool weather; the coffee note keeps it from feeling too formal.
