Ispahan Reedition Collection 2008
The 2008 reedition of the 1977 Ispahan — cleaner, lighter, and made for a market that no longer wears the original's animalic base.
The scent fingerprint
Weighted by intensity across 23 accords.
Every perfume in Sillage is represented as a distribution across canonical accord slugs — a lingua franca for scent. Two fragrances with overlapping fingerprints are scent-twins, even if they share no literal note.

By the editors · 2 min readThe 2008 reedition of the 1977 Ispahan — cleaner, lighter, and made for a market that no longer wears the original's animalic base. Mandarin and bergamot open it with a sweeter citrus than the original orange, and the heart is reduced to jasmine and ylang-ylang with an unspecified floral fill rather than the carnation-spice crowd of the seventies.
The base trades sandalwood, ambergris and incense for tonka, benzoin, vanilla and nutmeg — a modern soft-oriental finish that runs sweeter and shorter. It's a respectful tribute rather than a faithful one. Wear this if you want the silhouette of vintage Ispahan without the projection or the cost of tracking down the 1977 stock.
