By the editors · 2 min readA 2011 limited summer Kouros that swaps the legendary 1981 powerhouse's animalic florals for citrus and a sea-water heart. Bergamot and Amalfi lemon open clean and crisp; the marine note in the heart functions more as a transition than a focus, dissolving the citruses into the resin base.
Incense, patchouli and frankincense in the base preserve a thread of the original Kouros DNA, but at a much quieter volume. The point of the Tonique flanker is not to be Kouros — it's to give the brand a wearable warm-weather masculine in the same packaging family. Light, Mediterranean, almost forgettable next to the parent, but well-tuned for what it is.
