Akro
Artistic collaboration, contemporary niche.
Akro was founded in London in 2018 by Anaïs Cresp, daughter of master perfumer Olivier Cresp—the nose responsible for Angel by Thierry Mugler and other landmark commercial fragrances. The house is built around a concept of addiction: each fragrance in the catalog takes as its central material something people habitually reach for—coffee, tobacco, ink, absinthe, smoke. Olivier Cresp composes the fragrances for his daughter's project, lending serious technical credibility to what might otherwise be a concept-over-craft exercise. Releases like Smoke, Ink, and Absinthe are structured around their key material with disciplined restraint, allowing each note its proper weight. Distribution through select niche boutiques and the house's own website maintains an appropriately curated presence. Akro occupies a productive overlap between accessible niche pricing and genuine craft ambition, benefiting from the Cresp family's deep industry expertise while building its own identity as a London-based niche voice with a clear conceptual framework.

DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
