Antiqua Firenze
Artisan Florentine perfumery rooted in ancient craft.
Antiqua Firenze was presented to the world in 2017 by Enzo Galardi, a master perfumer who grew up in an artisan fragrance laboratory run by his grandfather and devoted his career to making the atmospheres of historical Italian perfumery contemporary and particular. Galardi had already built or co-created several respected Italian niche brands — including Bois 1920, IO.KO 1954, and Profumo di Firenze 1954 — before founding Antiqua Firenze as the fullest expression of his Florentine sensibility. The house grounds itself in Florence's role as a cradle of fragrance creation since the fourteenth century and the court of the Medici, presenting compositions such as Miss Tuberosa, Notturno di Rosa, Fico Fiorentino, and Oasi di Agrumi in clean black bottles of deliberate restraint. The raw materials are sourced globally and blended with traditional craft; the Florentine heritage is worn not as decoration but as a living methodology of excellence that connects hand-assembled techniques to the culture from which they arose. For enthusiasts of Italian niche perfumery Antiqua Firenze represents an unusually coherent creative vision: one perfumer's lifetime of study rendered in glass, elegantly packaged, and deeply rooted in place.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
