D. Grayi
An artisan scent diary in fragrance form.
d.grayi is the artisan perfume project of James Miju Nguyen, a Vietnamese-American maker who launched the line in 2022 and now releases through LV1 Studio. The work is presented as a scent diary: short-run compositions tied to memory, food, place, and the textures of a diasporic life, balancing modern perfumery technique with traditional ingredients. The catalogue moves quickly and includes notable durian, jasmine, and incense studies, alongside collaborations with collectives such as Pallure. Formulas often take risks with materials that conventional houses avoid — fermented fruit, smoke, dense resins — and the resulting line reads more like an evolving body of artistic work than a commercial collection. d.grayi sits firmly in the indie-natural-meets-conceptual perfumery space, with a small but engaged following on social media and through niche retailers.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
