Divine
Parfums Divine was founded in 1986 by Yvon Mouchel in Dinard, a handsome Edwardian resort town on the north coast of Brittany. Mouchel had spent his career in the fragrance industry at L'Oréal before leaving to pursue a vision of authentic, unhurried niche perfumery — a house that would take three years on average to develop each new fragrance and pursue quality without compromise or commercial urgency. His first creation, simply named Divine, launched in a small Dinard perfume shop and found its audience among visitors who responded to its particular period elegance. Over more than three decades, the house has produced just thirteen fragrances — an extraordinary restraint that reflects Mouchel's commitment to excellence over volume. The compositions have been developed with perfumers Richard Ibanez of Robertet and Yann Vasnier of Givaudan, among others, and combine the mineral light of the Breton coast with a classical French structure that resists fashion cycles entirely. Divine has attracted 50,000 customers worldwide and distributes through boutiques in Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Saint-Malo, and internationally. It is among the most quietly distinguished independent perfume houses in France, its longevity earned rather than inherited.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
