Ex Nihilo
Creator of future memories
Ex Nihilo was founded in Paris in 2013 by Sylvie Loday, Olivier Royère, and Benoît Verdier, three luxury industry veterans who positioned the house as a customizable take on niche perfumery. The flagship boutique on Rue Saint-Honoré offers an in-store Osmologue machine that lets customers personalize compositions with additional accords — an unusually concrete take on the bespoke proposition many niche brands gesture at. The core catalogue, composed by Quentin Bisch, Louise Turner, and other established noses, runs across collections like Initiale, Atelier d'Artiste, Cuir Celeste, and Fleur Narcotique — the last a particular collector favourite. Bottles are heavy crystal with magnetic caps; pricing sits firmly in ultra-niche, distribution through the brand's own boutiques and a small circle of high-end retailers including Bergdorf Goodman, Harvey Nichols, and Kadewe.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
