Fort Manle
Fort & Manlé is a Melbourne-based niche perfume house founded by Rasei Fort, a self-taught perfumer of Turkish heritage who began blending fragrances without formal training and developed his craft through rigorous self-education and access to the finest available raw materials. The house launched around 2014 and has since attracted an international following through a combination of opulent ingredient use, eccentric creative imagination, and unambiguously handcrafted production. Fort's compositions blend what he describes as modern and old-world sensibilities: references ranging from Ottoman imperial grandeur to tropical sensory excess, from romantic classicism to pop-cultural obliqueness. Each fragrance is personally blended by Fort using artisanal oils and extracts, producing results that are simultaneously maximalist and precise — vibrant, dense, and notably long-lasting. The house has received finalist nominations at the Art and Olfaction Awards for compositions including Fatih Sultan Mehmed and Impressions de Giverny. Fort & Manlé represents the vitality of Southern Hemisphere niche perfumery, a category that has grown considerably in ambition and reach over the past decade. The house distributes through specialist fragrance retailers globally, with a small but fiercely devoted collector community.
