Nautica
American coastal style, mall-counter classic.
Nautica is an American lifestyle brand founded in 1983 by Taiwanese-American designer David Chu, built around a preppy, nautical-coast aesthetic of sailcloth jackets, polos and red-white-and-blue colour blocking. The brand is now owned by Authentic Brands Group, which licenses it across categories; from 2030 the long-term global fragrance licence sits with Inter Parfums, taking over from previous holders Coty and Parlux. The scent catalogue began in the mid-1990s and has since become one of the staples of the American mall fragrance counter, with Nautica Voyage in particular settling into best-seller status as an aquatic, green-apple fougère. Compositions are clean, fresh and built for daily wear at accessible prices. Nautica suits wearers who want a reliable, summer-leaning everyday scent without spending real money.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
