Perry Ellis
Perry Ellis launched his namesake American sportswear label in New York in 1976, defining a strand of casual minimalism that anchored 1980s US fashion. The fragrance business began with Perry Ellis for Men in 1985, and after the designer's death in 1986 the brand passed through several hands before settling under Parlux Fragrances. The perfume catalogue today centres on the Perry Ellis 360° line — pillar masculines and feminines launched in 1996 and still in regular flanker rotation — and a long tail of department-store-priced fruity-florals and aromatic fougères. Output skews accessible rather than designer-prestige, with compositions signed by working noses including Carlos Benaim and Loc Dong.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
