By the editors · 2 min readFrankincense and hazelnut create an immediately resinous-nutty accord, the smoke drawing out the nut's oil while pear adds a faintly sweet glaze. Pink pepper's rosy heat bridges into the heart where saffron stains osmanthus apricot-leather and rose petals with a medicinal glow, turning the composition darker and drier. As the spices recede, sandalwood and cypriol lay down a creamy, slightly smoky wood that ambergris salts with oceanic skin. Vanilla and labdanum slowly warm the base, yet ambrette keeps the texture light and musky rather than syrupy. Projection stays at arm's length for most of the day, making it office-viable yet autumn-weighted. The structure is linear, so what you smell at ten minutes is essentially the dry-down, only quieter.
