By the editors · 2 min readTOB/02 opens with a striking combination of almond and saffron — powdery, metallic, and warm in equal measure. The heart introduces guaiac wood's smoky-rubber quality alongside ylang-ylang's heady richness and rose's refinement: three notes that create an unusual tension between sweetness and depth.
The base is the composition's most substantial part — frankincense and labdanum add resinous weight, tonka brings softness, and tobacco closes with a dry, leaf-like finish. It's the densest, most considered entry in the Zara TOB line, with a warmth and complexity that exceeds the house's usual register. Suited to cold-weather evenings; the saffron-labdanum-tobacco chord rewards close wearing.
