By the editors · 2 min readIncense, frankincense, orange blossom and coffee open in a dense, smoky-bitter cloud, the coffee roasted and the resins already smoldering. The orange blossom flickers underneath but is largely subsumed by the darker elements.
Cocoa and styrax compose a brief heart that pushes the perfume further into chocolate-bitter territory, the styrax adding a balsamic, slightly cinnamon-tinged warmth that bridges the smoky resins and the brown sweetness of cocoa.
Leather, oud, vetiver, vanilla and saffron close the base in a heavy oriental drydown — leather and oud at the front, vanilla just barely sweetening the smoke, saffron adding a leathery dryness. Overall the character is a smoky leather-cocoa oriental, dense and contemplative, suited to cold-weather evening wear.
