By the editors · 2 min readPink pepper, black currant, and bergamot open in a peppery-fruity rush, the cassis reading slightly sour and the pink pepper sharp on top of the citrus. There is little overt citrus brightness despite the name.
Bulgarian and Damask rose take the heart, jammy and slightly green, with the pepper still humming underneath. The roses read as a single warm pink mass rather than two distinct floral notes.
The base is mossy and resinous: oakmoss giving a green chypre depth, tonka adding a soft hay-vanilla, musk smoothing the edges. The overall character is a peppered rose chypre with a slight modern fruit twist, more atmospheric and slightly austere than typical mainstream rose perfumes of the moment.
