Poême Lancôme 1995 Eau de Parfum
Poême is one of Lancôme's most ambitious compositions — a 1995 grand floral oriental built with the scale and intention of a concert rather than a background piece.

By the editors · 2 min readPoême is one of Lancôme's most ambitious compositions — a 1995 grand floral oriental built with the scale and intention of a concert rather than a background piece. Plum, peach, bergamot, and narcissus open in a lush, slightly heady accord, the narcissus contributing an unusual green-floral-medicinal note that marks the composition as serious. The heart is a nine-note orchestration: tuberose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, rose, orange blossom, freesia, mimosa, heliotrope, and a hint of leather — the kind of opulent floral heart that was more achievable pre-IFRA restrictions. Tonka bean, vanilla, and amber close in warm, enveloping sweetness. Rich, knowing, unmistakably 1990s at its best.
