By the editors · 2 min readThe original 2005 Ice Touch Man is the more interesting of the two versions. The opening is a cold-cocktail of green apple, pink grapefruit, mandarin and birch leaf — that birch leaf is what gives the chill its actual bite, a sap-and-rind sharpness that the 2014 reissue softened away.
The heart of cedar needles, rose and jasmine extends the green-resinous quality from the top, keeping things crisp rather than letting it slide into water-fruit territory. Cedar is the through-line.
The base is fuller and more committed than the reissue: cedar, amber, tonka, patchouli, musk and sandalwood layered into a dry, slightly sweet woody finish that holds longer than expected for the genre. A solid mainstream cool-weather option.
