By the editors · 2 min readIncense opens with a direct, resinous declaration — lavender alongside it providing the only aromatic gentleness before the composition dives deep. Cumin in the heart adds its characteristic bodily warmth, a note that polarizes but here works correctly with the smoky incense arc; cardamom brings aromatic spice without sweetening. The base is the composition's ambition: oud, regular and Mysore sandalwood, birch, and Atlas cedar build a woodsmoke accord of real depth — birch adding its distinctive tarry quality; amber extends the warmth into a long, trailing dry-down. La Fumée is a fragrance for those who want to smell like they've been somewhere specific — a candlelit room, ancient wood, burning resin — and find that a worthwhile ambition.
