By the editors · 2 min readA modern reading of the chypre form. Peach sits at the top with citrus — orange, lemon, bergamot — making the opening juicier and rounder than a classic chypre's bitter-citrus snap.
The heart is a triangulated white-and-rose floral: Bulgarian rose, jasmine, and iris, the iris dragging it slightly powdery. The base is where the genre asserts itself — oakmoss and vetiver provide the chypre spine, with ambroxan, benzoin, vanilla, patchouli, and musk filling in a warmer, sweeter contour than the parchment-dry chypres of the seventies.
A chypre softened for modern wear, less austere than its templates. Cooler weather, evening, anyone who wants the structure without the bite.
