Every perfume in Sillage is represented as a distribution across canonical accord slugs — a lingua franca for scent. Two fragrances with overlapping fingerprints are scent-twins, even if they share no literal note.

By the editors · 2 min readAngel Muse opens with a bright pink pepper snap softened by tart grapefruit, creating an immediate contrast between spice and citrus that feels both playful and deliberate. The opening has a fizzy, almost effervescent quality that quickly settles into something more grounded.

As it develops, the composition moves away from brightness toward earthy warmth. Vetiver and patchouli anchor the base with a dry, woody presence that lacks the sweetness typical of the Angel family. The result is surprisingly linear—what begins fresh stays relatively fresh, with the base materials adding weight rather than transforming the character entirely.

This is Mugler's attempt at a lighter, more office-appropriate interpretation of their gourmand legacy. It suits those drawn to the brand's aesthetic but seeking something less overtly sweet, though it may feel understated to anyone expecting the house's usual intensity.
