By the editors · 2 min readTaif Aoud is the house's straight take on the rose-and-oud pairing. Bergamot brightens the opening for a few minutes, then May rose and ylang-ylang move forward, lifted by a sharp burst of clove. The flowers stay legible rather than getting buried.
Underneath, oud sits broad and slightly medicinal, ringed by frankincense, labdanum and benzoin. Vanilla and patchouli round the close, musk pulls it tight to the skin. There's no twist — it's a classical Middle Eastern accord built with expensive materials and held in conventional proportions. Heavy, slow-moving, unapologetically dense; better-suited to cool air than heat, where the resins can breathe without going syrupy.
