By the editors · 2 min readA composition built around aquatic-tinged woods rather than the deep oud the name suggests. Guaiac wood opens smoky and slightly tarry, with ambergris contributing a salty, mineral-marine quality that immediately pivots the expected oud territory toward something cooler and ozonic.
Pink pepper adds a bright sparkle on top, more fizz than spice, while patchouli underneath grounds the composition with damp earth. Vetiver threads through the base as a smoky-grassy spine. The drydown holds the smoky-saline accord for the long haul, with the woods drying out and the ambergris carrying the close. Atmospheric and unusual — recognizable as oud-adjacent only in the smoke and resin, otherwise reading more sea-weathered driftwood.
