By the editors · 2 min readCumin opens with an animalic warmth that is raw and immediate — this is not a polite opening. It signals the character of what follows before any sweeter elements appear.
Leather and tobacco arrive in the heart, layered over labdanum. The labdanum pushes toward a resinous, almost sticky depth, while tobacco introduces dryness. Oud is present in the base but here it reads more smoky than woody, reinforcing the arid, combustible quality of the leather-tobacco pairing.
Frankincense and sandalwood anchor the drydown, adding a pale, cool smoke that prevents the composition from becoming too heavy. This is a dense, intentionally difficult fragrance best suited to cold weather and unhurried evenings.
