Filippo Sorcinelli
Sacred vestments, sacred music, sacred fragrance.
Filippo Sorcinelli is an Italian artist, organist, and tailor whose perfumery emerged from an unusual source: in 2001 he founded LAVS, an atelier producing sacred vestments for the Catholic liturgy — including robes worn by Benedict XVI and at the opening Mass of Francis's pontificate. The first fragrance under the UNUM line appeared in 2014 as a tribute to that workshop, and the catalogue has since expanded across several lines (UNUM, NEBBIANO, EXTRAIT DE MUSIQUE). The compositions are unmistakably his: incense, beeswax, leather, smoked woods, fog. LAVS — the flagship — reads as the incense of incenses, dense with pepper, oakmoss, and labdanum. The work belongs to readers interested in fragrance with explicit liturgical, musical, or photographic reference; Sorcinelli's broader practice as a cathedral organist and visual artist is woven directly into the briefs.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
