The Merchant Of Venice
Venice's perfumery tradition, luxury rediscovered.
The Merchant of Venice takes its name and conceptual framework from Venice's historic role as the crossroads of Eastern and Western trade — a place where spices, resins, and aromatic goods from the Levant met Venetian artisanship and commerce. The brand was established in 2009 by Mavive S.p.A., a Venetian company with roots in the beauty and fragrance distribution business, positioning itself around the idea of reviving historical Venetian perfumery traditions. The collection is organized into several lines with varying price points, from accessible eau de toilettes to more concentrated extrait preparations. Materials tend toward rich orientals, resins, and Mediterranean botanicals consistent with the house's stated geographical and historical reference. Packaging draws on Venetian decorative traditions — glass, ornate typography, gold detailing. Distribution is international, through niche fragrance boutiques and selective luxury retail across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
